The Journalist Association submitted a memorandum to the Collector addressed to the Honorable Governor, demanding the immediate implementation of the Journalist Protection Act in the state.

कटनी। छत्तीसगढ़ के बस्तर संभाग के बीजापुर जिले के युवा पत्रकार मुकेश चंद्राकर की हत्या के विरोध में बारडोरी पत्रकार महासंघ व जिला पत्रकार संघ कटनी के द्वारा आज 6 जनवरी सोमवार को कलेक्ट्रेट में विरोध प्रदर्शन करते हुए महामहिम राज्यपाल के नाम संबोधित ज्ञापन कलेक्टर दिलीप कुमार यादव को सौंपा गया। ज्ञापन के माध्यम से पत्रकार सुरक्षा कानून लागू करने, हत्या के आरोपियों को फांसी की सजा दिए जाने एवं पीडि़त परिवार को एक करोड़ रुपए की राशि प्रदान किए जाने तथा दिवगंत पत्रकार मुकेश चंद्राकर के परिवार के किसी एक सदस्य को नौकरी दिए जाने की मांग की गई। बारडोरी पत्रकार महासंघ के अध्यक्ष संजय जैन व जिला पत्रकार संघ के अध्यक्ष विवेक शुक्ला ने कहा कि पत्रकार मुकेश चंद्राकर को सच को सामने लाने की कीमत अपनी जान देकर चुकानी पड़ी। एनडीटीवी से जुड़े जर्नलिस्ट मुकेश ने भू माफिया के खिलाफ मुहिम छेड़ रखी थी। अवैध कारोबार करने वालों की आंखों की वे किरकरी बन गए थे, जिसके चलते उन्हें रास्ते से हटा दिया गया।
इस मौके पर जनसंपर्क अधिकारी मनोज श्रीवास्तव उपस्थित रहे। इस दौरान सभी पत्रकारों ने एक स्वर में राज्य सरकार से प्रदेश में जल्द पत्रकार सुरक्षा कानून लागू करने की मांग की।
